Education & Experience

Catherine is a current student at Colorado Christian University earning a Master’s degree of Science in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. Her training includes coursework in counseling theories & techniques, ethics & multicultural considerations, neuroscience, and trauma within a biblical framework. She holds a BA in psychology from Baylor University with an emphasis in poverty and social justice.

Catherine’s previous non-profit work experiences have equipped her to engage and support a wide variety of people who are hurting and seeking help. Additionally, Catherine credits her own personal counseling experience as the reason she is a counselor today. She desires to help clients make sense of their stories through a compassionate, person-centered, trauma-informed approach. In her free time, Catherine enjoys reading, baking, going on walks with her husband, Graham, and trying new restaurants with friends.

Interests & Specialties

Catherine seeks to create a safe and supportive environment for adolescents and adults seeking assistance with a variety of personal, emotional, and psychological concerns. This includes issues such as anxiety, depression, grief, life transition, relational and familial conflict, and trauma. Catherine aims to foster a therapeutic relationship that promotes healing, growth, and self-exploration as clients navigate the complexities and nuances of their stories.

Catherine believes we all have a story, and oftentimes those stories are filled with both beauty and pain. Catherine desires to walk alongside her clients as they navigate the messy, good, hard, and mundane seasons of life. She believes her role as a counselor is to provide individuals and families with the tools, knowledge, encouragement, and empathy needed to engage with both the beauty and pain of their stories.

Catherine is under the supervision of Caroline McKee, LPC (#80486) and Dr. Crystal Brashear, LPC (# 75709).
