Education & Experience

Shelby is a graduate of Trevecca Nazarene University with a Masters degree in Marriage and Family Therapy (MFT). She completed her undergraduate degree in Psychology from Texas A&M University. Serving in vocational ministry with her husband has given Shelby a passion for encouraging and supporting individuals and families in ministry through counseling. Shelby’s goal is to help people who are hurting find healing and hope, and she believes anybody is capable of having a life full of meaning and wholeness regardless of where their journey has taken them. Shelby has a passion for walking alongside individuals and couples who feel stuck and need help adjusting to new circumstances or healing from past hurt.

Shelby enjoys serving in student ministry alongside her husband, spending time with family and friends, traveling, being outdoors, and reading.

Interests & Specialties

Shelby offers counseling to women and couples with issues including anxiety, depression, life transitions, family of origin issues, singleness, marital issues, marital crisis (infidelity, separation, disaffection), challenges that come in vocational ministry, and more. s.   
 
Shelby is a certified Prepare and Enrich facilitator and uses a variety of therapeutic approaches including Emotionally Focused Therapy, Attachment Theory, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, and more. Shelby enjoys working with clients of all faiths and backgrounds and creates a unique approach based on each person’s needs. Shelby is under the supervision of Jenny Deitz, LMFT-S (License # 201890).
