Shelby offers counseling to women and couples and primarily works with issues including anxiety, depression, life transitions, family of origin issues, singleness, marital issues, marital crisis (infidelity, separation, disaffection), challenges that come in vocational ministry, and more. Shelby’s goal is to help people who are hurting find healing and hope, and she believes anybody is capable of having a life full of meaning and wholeness regardless of where their journey has taken them. Shelby has a passion for walking alongside individuals and couples who feel stuck and need help adjusting to new circumstances or healing from past hurts.
Shelby is a certified Prepare and Enrich facilitator and uses a variety of therapeutic approaches including Emotionally Focused Therapy, Attachment Theory, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, and more. Shelby enjoys working with clients of all faiths and backgrounds and creates a unique approach based on each person’s needs. Shelby is passionate about helping people understand themselves in the context of their relationships, and her hope is that they feel seen, known and accepted and to help them find the tools they need to create the change they long for.
