Barnbas Center Group Support for Central Texas Flooding

As part of our ongoing response, we are offering several options designed to provide space for healing, connection, and faith-informed support. The groups are small, guided gatherings led by licensed therapists that allow individuals to share experiences, learn emotional tools, and receive encouragement from others who understand. These offer both psychoeducation and emotional support, helping children and adults name their grief, reduce isolation, and begin to rebuild a sense of safety and connection.

We are offering the following free sessions:
Sunday, August 3, 2025 | 3:00–4:30 PM
 Hosted at The Barnabas Center
●      Girls Group (Age 6 & up) meeting in 3D:
For girls who were attending camp during the flood, were directly impacted by loss, or experienced emotional distress from the tragedy. Psycho-education and Activity-based.
Led by Lauren Walls* (LPC-Associate) and Sloane Fredricks* (Intern)

●     Parent Group (Co-ed) meeting in Group Therapy Room:
For parents of children impacted by the flooding or loss, whether their children were at camp, lost a loved one, or are struggling with grief or fear.
This group will include psychoeducation to support you in caring for your children emotionally and spiritually in this difficult season and offer parents an opportunity to explore their own emotions as they navigate this season.
Led by Caroline McKee (LPC) and Sierra Aguilar* (LPC-Associate)

Thursday, August 7, 2025 | 4:30–5:30 PM
Hosted at The Barnabas Center
●     Boys Group (4th Grade & up) meeting in 3D:
For boys who were at camp during the flood, nearby at the time of the tragedy, or who have experienced stress, fear, or grief related to the recent events in Central Texas. Psycho-education and Activity based.
Led by Haley Webster* (LPC-Associate)

Each group is led by licensed Christian therapists and integrates clinical insight with a biblical worldview. We believe that God is near to the brokenhearted (Psalm 34:18) and that healing happens in the presence of safety, community, and truth.
If you or your child could benefit from attending, please reach out to us to reserve a spot. Space is limited to ensure a meaningful and supportive environment for each participant.
We are grateful to walk this road with you. In Christ, there is room for sorrow, hope, and healing to exist together.
With care,
 The Barnabas Center Team
