A Counseling Group for those grieving and caring for loved ones suffering with cancer and chronic illness

Grief is an emotional experience that stands out from all the others. When we let ourselves feel the sorrowful truth of our losses, we transition and change. Our hearts will shift from being dominated and controlled by our losses and move to a place where we find resolution and healing. Moving through your grief will transform you. Many of us have experienced the death of a loved one, and after grieving we find ourselves in a different place months or years later. That’s because grief is an emotional gift from God to help us heal.

Grieving with Hope is a counseling group for men and women to learn, understand, and process grief related to caring for a loved one with cancer or another chronic illness and find healing and connection in a small, confidential space. Using guided curriculum, contemplative practices, and group sharing, members will explore topics such as Acknowledging Your Loss, Understanding and Expressing Your Grief, Facing Anxiety, Fear, Anger, Guilt, and Sadness, Wrestling with Suffering, and Entrusting Your Grief to God.

This group is specifically designed to address grief related to individuals who are grieving the loss of a loved one from cancer or chronic illness; or for those currently caring for a loved one suffering from cancer or chronic illness.

Purposes of Grieving with Hope include:

-To receive emotional support from others who have also experienced loss and suffering and to experience the healing power of sharing one’s story.

-To learn about and normalize the grieving process.

-To explore how your relationship with God can be a foundation for strength and healing.

-To experience the joy of giving support and encouragement to others.

-To gain a social support system from those who have experienced similar grief.

This group is currently forming around interest and availability. If you are interested in participating in this 6-week counseling group, please contact Leslie Peacock at Leslie.peacock@christtheking.com for more information.
